BEND TRIATHLON TRAINING CAMP 2026

MAY 29 - JUNE 2, 2026

When I was still racing, training camps were always my favorite two to three weeks of the year: no other commitments except swimming, cycling, running, resting, and eating all day long. It was the only time in my career that I truly felt like a professional athlete, and it’s in that spirit that I’ve shaped our Bend Triathlon Training Camp over the twelve years Campfire has been running it.

You will be tired at the end of Bend Camp. Heck, you’ll be tired before the end of Bend Camp, but that’s the point. You cannot get faster without accumulating fatigue, but fatigue is also a double-edged sword: too much fatigue and you’ll end up sick, injured, or burnt out.

Why? Well, when you train as part of your normal existence, several other aspects of your life compete for your attention: work, family, friends, relationships, other hobbies…they all create stress, and all stress goes into the same bucket. And if that bucket overflows…well, that’s called an adult meltdown right there, and we’ve all probably experienced something like that. Worse? When your body is stressed, it doesn’t absorb your training as effectively, so that one hour run might not be “worth” one hour of training stimulus, depending on your recovery.

Camps adjust for that fatigue. By subtracting the other stressors in your life you get an incredibly strong signal for your body to adapt to the new load placed upon it, and we can prescribe more training to you than you are used to. And since you’re not as stressed, that higher load makes you faster, not burnt out.

So camp is challenging, but camp is also fun, supportive, and beautiful. So why not join us for five days of truly focusing on your 2026 training? You might find yourself fitter, faster, and happier than you’ve ever been.

ONE OF THE BEST TRAINING WEEKS I'VE HAD, EVER”

- Tim D.

While the prospect of camp can be a bit intimidating (I won't know anyone, how does my fitness and technique compare to others?, isn't this stuff for kids?), I have found my camp experiences to be some of my fondest memories along my journey as a triathlete. They provided an opportunity to learn new things, improve my approach and technique, hear from amazing professionals and most importantly, to build a community with my fellow campers. I have built relationships with amazing people through each of my camp experiences which carry through to today. You need camp in your life!”
