Episode 55: Coping Imagery, In-Race Imagery, and Outcome Imagery: A Full Visualization Protocol

Coping Imagery, In-Race Imagery, and Outcome Imagery: A Full Visualization Protocol
Campfire Endurance Coaching

Visualization is one of the most widely cited mental skills in endurance sport, and one of the least practiced. Athletes talk about it, nod when a coach brings it up, and go home without doing any of it. In this solo episode, I break down visualization into three distinct types — outcome imagery, in-race imagery, and coping imagery — with a specific protocol for each, built around one core premise: visualization convinces your brain the outcome it desires has already happened.
